    Happy Mothers Day!

Mothers day is a bit tense at our house. My husband is estranged from his mom so this day always brings their horrible relationship more to his mind than it usually is. He voluntarily cut his mom from his life but I think even worse than having your mom die is to have a mom who is alive but doesn't give a damn about you.
History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people. Martin Luther King, Jr.

    Happy Mother's Day!!

My heart today is filled with gratitude for being here, and for my wonderful family. My BIL lost his mom to cancer this past week, the funeral was yesterday. I know this is a very tough MD for them.

Lil Bit I'm sorry about your DHs mom. I have a very dear friend who has had to cut her parents out of her life (they are toxic) and another whose mother battles mental illness and has inflicted mental and emotional abuse on my friend since childhood. It's not always an easy day. Hugs.

Today, all moms, celebrate yourself. And let the kids/hubby do the dishes, make dinner, etc. Put your feet up and relax!! We're going to watch the TAR finale as a family later, Mr. S is BBQ'ing steaks, the girls are making a salad, and I'm pouring myself a glass of wine.

Happy Mother's Day to all moms
I have no people children, but woke up this morning to find a little stack on my bed--piece of buffalo fur, one square leopard print fabric with fleece backing, one old timey wooden clothespin, and a stuffed strawberry (Pandora piles all her favorite things next to me on the bed at night --is she giving me a gift, waiting to play when I get up, or wanting me to guard them? )
I have found the Truth and it doesn't make sense.

Well at least she didn't leave a dead mouse on your pillow while you were sleeping like one of my cats did!
    Count your blessings!

Happy Mothers' Day to all the moms -- and to the dads who got 'em there!

Me, I'm nowhere near being a mom, but I sure as heck am grateful to you for providing my tutees!

I ended up having to work last night because the other server was "tired." (she's 21) Maybe she needs some vitamins.
