I don't care for the early darkness, but it is better for the kids going to school in the early morning....they can see where they're going.
During WW II, as noted in the article, we had daylight savings time all year around. There are a couple of states in the US which do not observe DST, one of them being AZ. I guess they figure it is hot enough there in the summer they don't want to extend the torture any further!!
Hope everyone remembered to change their clocks.
