    When I lived overseas, the Americans and Canadians did exactly that. It was always a ton of fun We also combined Thanksgiving one year.

    Detroit and Windsor used to do just that, the International Freedom Festival. I'm not sure if they still do.

    They should do that where I live as there is a large Canadian population.

    Come on down to Niagara mrd! There are tons of parties going on from Thursday to Sunday, both Canadians and Americans. And don't forget the Friendship Festival Buffalo NY/FtErie Canada border!

    Both Canadians and Americans take the 4 days off regardless of what days they fall on.

    There are probably just as many USA plates these 4 days as Canadian plates!

    Now, down at the marina, that's another great place to be. USA sails or motors down to the Canadian side, on Thursday for a couple of days. Then the Canadians sail/motors to the Americans for their celebration.

    They are planning a Hands Across the Border, one big human line from the USA side to the Canadian side, and everyone shakes hands!
    So yes, its one big honking party for 4 days with our American friends!
