    Re: VACATION!! Yeah!! (Anyone Else?)

We just got back last night from a really fun trip.
    • Sunday - left Phoenix and flew to Pittsburgh.
    • Monday - WALKED over 10 miles. Went to the Monongahela Incline and enjoyed a great view of the city. Had lunch at Primanti Brothers, a local place where we were told we HAD to go. Not fond of french fries ON a sandwich. Rested at the hotel a bit, and then walked to PNC park to watch a baseball game. This was the 34th major league park we visited, and we have now been to a home game for ALL of the major league teams. Mr. AZC has agreed that we don't have to go back to cities where they tear down the old stadiums and build new ones. (Thank you, Sweetie.)
    • Tuesday - Drove to Niagara Falls, Canada and walked around a bit. Our room had a double whirlpool tub, so we rested our muscles from the 10-mile walk on Monday.
    • Wednesday - ZIPLINED (of course). It was awesome! Then we did a daytime ride on the Hornblower Cruise that takes you right up to the falls. Ate at Tim Horton's, took a nap, and then walked back to the Hornblower pier and did the nighttime cruise. The falls are lit up with alternating colors, and at the very end there's a very nice fireworks show.
    • Thursday - Drove from Niagara Falls to Cooperstown, NY. We celebrated the completion of our Ballpark Tour by visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame. I had awakened with a cold that morning, so I was so full of over-the-counter meds that I didn't enjoy it as much the second time as I did when we were there 11 years ago.
    • Friday - We drove to Harpursberg, NY and I got to meet and feed April and Oliver (the giraffes that welcomed a baby in April). The baby - Tajiri - was there, too. He wasn't interested in the tourists or carrots, but it was great to see him anyway. It's a lovely little zoo out in the middle of nowhere. We even got to meet the owner (Jordan) and the head keeper (Alyssa) whom I watched feeding and caring for April every night for 6 weeks via webcam while waiting for Tajiri to appear.
    • Saturday - The best day of all. We met up with a friend whom I haven't seen in 22 years!!! Neither one of us wanted to let go of our greeting hug. She and her husband and Mr. AZC and I sat for about 3 years at a Panera Bread, and there was not one second of time when we weren't talking, sharing, and enjoying being together. Then we drove to the airport and flew home to our own bed!!!!
So today is unpacking, laundry, and actively starting planning and packing for our move. So much for retirement being a time to relax!

That was quite a trip, AZ! You packed a lot into that trip. I totally agree about the old stadiums. Broke my heart about Yankee Stadium. Shea Stadium, home of the '69 NY Amazin Mets, was rebuilt and renamed Citi Field, after a bank.

    Welcome back!

It was our 17th zipline. I'm 70, hubby is 76. We're not afraid of anything any more.

    Re: VACATION!! Yeah!! (Anyone Else?)

I just came back from vacation and this was one of the best ones ever. I flew to Las Vegas, Nevada for 2 days and then drove from Las Vegas to California that was the highlight of the trip the views of the mountains and the dessert were spectacular. Went to Grenada Hills, California, Belair, Hollywood, Beverly Hills , Venice Beach Santa Monica, oh man it was soooo beautiful I want to move there so badly.
