"In this economy" is the new "Post 9-11" for me.
Hearing it too much just numbs me to the whole situation.

Hmmm. Would that be one of those sports metaphors I posted about above?

Ugh. For me it's a toss-up between "my bad" and "no worries". Neither one makes sense.

Also - to whomever mentioned "at the end of the day" almost cost me my new job. Staff meeting - the boss gave us his lecture on how to run a lawfirm. When he got to "at the end of the day".....I busted out laughing - loudly, no less, thinking of this thread. Thanks guys.....for taking away my kids' Christmas presents! The money from this job was supposed to buy all kinds of gifts. I guess it's a Snugli for everyone!

Yes indeed. The quotes are because I hate it so much, and literally might throw up if I listen to it coming out of anyone's mouth again. Good luck on that one, eh?

Current irritants are "keepin' it real", "street cred", "bangin' bod" and most acronyms such as BFF, IDK and many others.

I personally hate the acronyms like BFF, and IDK BECAUSE I don't know what they all mean!

    Describing something as being "bananas"
Example: The dancing on SYTYCD last night was bananas!

    It drives me bananas!!!! LOL

    "True Dat"

There is just so much wrong with that phrase, if I start it will end up a rant!

In the last couple of days, I've been hearing "transgression" re Tiger Woods.

This is the meaning of transgression.

The noun TRANSGRESSION has 3 senses:

    1. the act of transgressing; the violation of a law or a duty or moral principle2. the spreading of the sea over land as evidenced by the deposition of marine strata over terrestrial strata
    3. the action of going beyond or overstepping some boundary or limit

He's using it to replace, cheating on my wife? As much as I admire Tiger for his professional achievements, I'm hearing,

I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions
I'm not liking that word already!

I bought a Snugli at Kroger the other day....the one with the tiger print. I love this thing! But the commercials are ridiculous.
I enjoy the escapism of reality television. Beats the heck out of worrying about your REAL life!!
