Where I went on my last vacation....

Where did you go on your last vacation? Was it your first time, and was it everything you expected? What would you do differently, etc.

My last "actual" vacation was a 3-day weekend up to Traverse City, Michigan (about 4 hours North of me). My wife and I stayed at the Grand Traverse Resort, which is huge...3 golf courses (including one by Nicklaus and one by Player), close to casinos and beautiful beaches and quaint fishing towns.

It was extremely nice. It wasn't our first time there, so we knew what to expect, and that made it nicer.

Australia for 2 months this summer. That beats Michigan!

Last year in Franconia Notch, New Hampshire. Log cabin, fireplace, stream behind the cabin, and most importantly very quiet.

Very relaxing, fairly close to National Parks and other tourist type attractions. The only thing that I didn't like was that there was no tv, otherwise, almost perfect.

We went to Vancouver through the Rocky Mountains on the train. Very cool way to see scenic stuff because whoevers driving usually misses out..Also went on to Victoria and Whistler BC ..

My last vacation (this summer) wasn't as exciting as ya'lls. Went to San Antonio with family. However, it was a total blast.

It was a trip on what they call The Rocky Mountaineer railtours. All they do is go from Calgary to Vancouver on different paths. I think there is one that also goes up the coast.My kids had never seen the Rockies before, so we thought it was a good way.It was worth it, and for American$ it would be cheap.!The Rocky Mountaineer.

And hey, San Antonio Texas is on my must go places!! Texas anywhere is!

Woven mole was in Santa Fe for about 2 weeks, well, in theory...

Anyway, my last major trip was to Montreal and Quebec city by train, but you all know about that.
