Back from our Christmas trip! Went out west-- did Vegas, some of the Utah National Parks, Death Valley, and more, then headed up to NY for a few days. Here is the page I just put up with the trip report and pics-

Those pictures are beautiful, pakacat! I was at your car in the ditch though, glad you weren't hurt and it didn't screw up your vacation.

    Thank you!

Yep, when we lost control and started spinning, that was right up there in the "scared as I've been" category. When we flew off the road, I thought we might flip. We were lucky that it wasn't that steep there, but we never would have gotten out on our own.

Funny thing was, my husband was talking minutes before about how, growing up in NY, he was so good in driving in snow and icy conditions...

pakakat, be glad you are not in Albany now!

Right now it is -1 with a wind chill of -17! Brrrrr.

In December we had close to 35 inches of snow, about 10 of those fell on New Year's Eve alone. More fell yesterday and a few flurries flew around today. Me thinks we will have a long, long winter.

My last vacation? A bus ride filled with really old people with my grandparents around Arizona-Utah. I would have to say that the hotels were very nice.

We will be heading from Austin to Seattle to visit family in July. Any input on the best seats to book on the plane? I have heard exit seats, is that right? It has been about 18 years since the last time I flew and I remember the seats not having much leg room (I'm 5'5") Mr. Melitta is 6'2" and a very nervous first time flier. Room too stretch for him would really help.

If you're not going to fly first class then I would definitely recommend you trying to get exit seats. They do have more leg room for your hubbie.
