    Re: Happy New Year

Just chiming in to say Happy New Year to all of my favorite FoRTers!!

It's very much a bittersweet night for me-- 2008 was good to me in so many ways that 2009 comes in with much to live up to. But I know I'm the exception rather than the rule, and in that, I wish the very best to everyone else in 2009.

Well its 2009 in the Central Time Zone.....

Me and the S.O. went to Shogun and had some great food...I decided against the saki and just had Corona's with limes instead! Goofy us went to the 24 hour Walgreen's store next door to the restaurant where they had their Christmas stuff marked down 75% and we found some Starbuck gift sets with coffees, hot chocolate and coffee mugs that we got for $3.00. Good food AND bargains...yep, we ended 2008 on a good note!

Since we were already in the Starbucks mood, we stopped at one on the way home and had us a couple of Frappucinos. Yep, not a damn thing I had to eat tonight was even remotely Weight Watcher friendly!

When we got home we were watching Dick Clark's New Years Rocking Eve....he looks and sounds so much better! He mentioned he had been doing this for 36 years .......I've been watching him do this since I was 6 years old! WOW!!!

Happy New Years to all my FORT family.......

I fell asleep on the couch too. Husband arrived home and woke me up about ten minutes before midnight! Barely enough time to bust out the bubbly and toast 2009.

BB- I am jealous! We love Japanese food and would have gone to our local Shogun restaurant tonight if Mr. Doxie hadn't had to work. I'm glad y'all had fun.

    Happy 2009!

    Re: Happy New Year

Happy 2009! We just got back from a very fun party. We played a dice game - I came home with a dollar more than I started with. Lots of nice, friendly people. I was the driver so I was a water drinker most of the night. Like many of you, I had wanted to stay home, but my good friend asked me to come to her house, so I made the effort and don't regret it. The weather is very mild here tonight so driving was a breeze.

My daughter and I spent a good deal of time cleaning up our house today, moving furniture and putting away decorations. It looks so uncluttered. It is great to be home. Hooray for the new year!
