Miss Kitty, those are really cool.

Our annual art festival is this weekend. Artisphere. I can't wait. AND Bob Jones University is opening its new art gallery next to the history museum on Sat. and they will have the Peter Paul Ruebens there. I can't wait. I've wanted to see these and have not made it to the university to the old musuem to do so. Now that its more convenient, I can't wait to go. They also have a large collection of other Old Masters.

And I can't wait to see all the cool art at the festival this weekend. Alas, I find stuff I'd LOVE to have, but unfortunately don't have the budget. Why is it when I go to these things, the stuff that I absolutely LOVE is always the MOST expensive?

    Re: Artists You Like

I saw this artist's work at a festival yesterday.

Be warned, no topic is off limits for his poking fun at it. I thought it was provokative and funny.

"There are no rules in the world of Barry Kite, no subject off limits. Kite employs his acute mind, his artist’s eye, and his unfailing sense of humor to create collage-like lithographs that poke fun at—or at least question—the icons of art, history, science, politics and industry. He uses found imagery and embellishes each work by applying his own photographic and hand-coloring techniques. "

Mike's sister - I own 2 of her originals and they are amazing!

Here's her website for her other works.

Picture is not great b/c of the glare of the flash as well I was far from this in my living room and zoomed in and cropped it. It's just amazing the detail and the story behind this drawing.

Her most recent piece is "Watch Your Step", that was chosen from the 47th Annual Exhibition of the Society of Animal Artists for the 2007-2008 Art and the Animal Tour.
