Okay, well I'm in student government at my high school. We're doing Secret Santa, and I got a girl who LOVES her dog. Her boyfriend told me to get a dog toy for her dog, but not a ball cause he would probably swallow that since he's not like most dogs. And since FoRT is a place full of pet owners, I thought I'd ask for suggestions for a dog toy.

    You guys crack me up!

I'm a fan of magazine subscriptions or monthly flowers and such. Gift cards work when you know what they like in general but not specifically. And I like gift certificates from coffee shops like Tim Hortons or a favorite restaurant.

CrossingGuard: I don't have a dog but assume that a nice chewy bone or pigs ear is fun or one of those knotted ropes to chew and tug on. Is he a little dog or a big dog? Do you know?

Her boyfriend said he's a normal sized dog, but that depends on how you define "normal." He did give me an example of how big he his with his hands, and I'd say he's pretty big.

ACF! A kindred spirit! I also have a blanket fetish - the kind you snuggle with while watching tv in a basically unheated shed/family room. Our exchange student has good taste. He's commandeered my favorite one. It was folded on "my" chair and there were others available on "his" side of the couch. I even washed it and folded it back on my chair and put others near his preferred perch and he took it again. Now it smells like him... not bad, just different. It is faux suede on one side and faux fur on the other and big enough to go around me. Super warm.
    Count your blessings!

I got Raisin (my AV and step dog) and Buttons (L's dog) each a Kong toy...they come in all sizes, and have a hole so you can stuff doggie treats in them. They are nearly indestructible and are designed with safety in mind. plus, dogs love them. You can throw it, or put the treats in, or leave it as a regular chew toy. You can get them at Petsmart, Petco or somewhere like that.

I agree queenb, kongs are the best dog toys ever, and are made for all different sized dogs.

I would like some advice for some gifts for my three year old niece. I'm looking for some games that would be appropriate for her age, fun, and a little bit educational. Any ideas?
