Burntbrat, how was the mimosa? I had one and about 3 cups of coffee, so have a caffiene/champagne buzz going. But it's all good. Had sausage balls and pumpkin bread to counteract the buzz.
I'm already running the dishwasher and it's only 9:15.
We had a very nice morning. Daughter was in disbelief over the bunny. So it was a great morning for her. She's named it some Japanese name I can't prounce so I am now calling it TDB (for That Damn Bunny) because I've apparantly been saying that since we first had the idea for it and hubby suggested I called it TDB.
Waldo has been petrified all morning, poor thing. The other dogs almost tore the stockings up getting to their goodies, but he has been bewildered and scared. He's scared of the bunny, he's scared of the wrapping paper. Poor thing. He's carrying his chew bone around in his mouth and is afraid to put it down because Rosie has collected ALL the bones, put them in her bed and is baring her teeth and snarling at humans and dogs alike if we look like we're coming close to her. Mean, greedy thing!
I got a book called Bad Dogs have more Fun. Can't wait to read it.
Since my daughter works at a bookstore, I got some really nice gifts: books!
I can't wait to start reading.
And I got new fuzzy slippers so my feet are cozy and warm.
And hubby surprised me with something I NEVER expected. I saw an old kitchen hutch in a junk store back in July that I wanted. I've been looking at these things for years and have always wanted one. But in antique stores they run anywhere from $700-$1800. Well this store (and it really is a junk store and I don't think they had any idea what they had or it would have been more expensive) had it back in July for $200 and hubby went back in OCTOBER and they still had it and made him a deal, so he's been hiding it ever since. I'm thrilled. Now have to find a place for it.
The funny thing is that we watched A Christmas STory last night and I commented that they had "one of those things I've wanted" in their kitchen. Hubby said he almost lost it when I said that. He made me go to bed and he put it in the living room after I went to sleep. It needs some cleaning, but otherwise its in fairly good shape and I'll leave it and not paint it as I like the aged, distressed look. But I prefer to have the clean look also.
So all in all it was a good Christmas here in the Myrosiedog house. The dogs have been busy with chew bones and my daughter had been busy with the bunny and I've been cooking. Don't know what Mr. Rosie is doing, but he's appearing to be busy.
Hope Santa was good to you all and you have a Merry and Wonderful Christmas.
Oh and my friend that is sending her 11 year old daughter for a week, called and put it on speaker when her daughter opened her airline tickets. She SCREAMED and then started crying! It was so sweet. She's so excited and so are we. She can't believe she gets to come "all by herself".She arrives Friday morning.
So now that it's quiet, I'm going to put on my new Queen Latifah Trav'lin Light CD and enjoy my slippers and read. Can't think of a better way to spend the day.
Hope all of you spend the day enjoying loved ones, good food and have a relaxing day.
Oh and Missyboxers, thanks. I love making the cards and it's been suggested I sell them, but then it becomes work. I'd rather make them knowing that they are going to people that are special that I know instead of laboring over something that becomes work and not an enjoying project for me. But thanks. I really enjoy making stuff like that.
