    Re: Christmas 2007

All I need to do is wrap the gifts that my Mom is giving my Dad. I have all the fixin's for dinner which I am doing. Ham, baked potatoes, green beans, carrots, stuffing and a stollen for dessert. I have having my parents, uncle and brother and Sister -in-law over for dinner. Joey already somehow opened the dresser drawer where I had the catnip socks, ripped one of the packages open and is now sleeping under the bed snoring. So much for his Christmas present. Also picked up my Moms birthday gift card today - her birthday is the 29th, and am waiting for the Jitterbug phone I ordered for them to arrive.

    at Joey.

He needs another gift now dad!

Well the possibility exists I may have to go to the grocery store again. I lost my list 5 min. after entering the store, so had to go from memory. So I think I only needed a few things, but then again, I did forget to get the TP and that WAS on the list, so who knows, I may not be as done as I think. But at the moment, with my faulty memory, I think I'm done and that's all that counts.

And I forgot dogfood too and that was on the list. I'm sure before morning, I'll have another list for another trip.

<---- not having to go to the grocery store.
just working on giving up 'control' of the holiday plans. yipes.

everything is wrapped, and I ordered myself a TomTom gps from QVC.

and taking the stupid pain pills to the point where my son laughs at me whenI talk to him. sometimes my brian doesn't seem to connect to my mouth.

    actually, brian is my son!!
taking a couple pills and heading off to bed.
I'll be glad when I don't have to take the pills anymore, and I can just have my eggnog, kahlua coffee, or just plain vodka.

I want a jitterbug. I could actually SEE the buttons and the screen then.

Schmoo, if your "brian isn't connecting to your mouth" then it's not the pain pills fault, sounds like it's your son's.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Mmmmm. Your menu sounds delicious MRD. We're doing cornish game hens again this year. We tried them last year and they were okay, just not too flavorful. So I have a new recipe to try this year. Christmas Eve is always a 7-fish dinner, but I think this year we're cutting it down to 3 because 7 is just wasteful. I really want to do mimosas on Christmas morning too. I'll just have to make a trip to the liquor store before Tuesday!
One of these days I'll stop being sensitive. Until then, I'll continue to be devastated on a daily basis. Life breaks my heart.

JDeterFan: Congrats on being on holidays! What a nice employer!

speedybump: Merry Christmas! Do have a safe drive there and back!!

myrosiedog and Gutmutter: Congrats on getting everything done, done, done.

gabriel: My, that sounds like a lovely dinner with your family! My, Mr. Joey is just a little dickens for finding his prezzy from Santa Paws early!!

schmoo: Feel better soon and don't mix those meds and booze! :nono

    burntbrat: Did someone say fish??

I'm done with wrapping gifts tonight. Gracie is in love with curling ribbon and Mr. Tootles was into the tissue paper and gift bags!

My Christmas tree is not finished. I tried to hammer some nails in the wall and put up the garland around the fireplace, but no luck. A couple nails fell out and I need more hands than I have because of the weight of it. Paws, unfortunately, do not help. Particularly when one set is busy holding down one end while attached mouth is gleefully chewing on said garland. And the set belonging to the other one is laughing. Also, I have been unable to find Santa. Easter bunny may just have to stand in. Sigh.

An early "Merry Christmas!" to those FoRTers travelling or too busy to be here for the actual holiday. I wish you all safe journeys and warm love for Christmas.
    Count your blessings!
