Ah, but the term has evolved to include anyone from the North even Canada. We get so inundated every year with tourists during the winter season that we can't differentiate the Canadians from the Northerners so we just call everyone Yankees!

NW Ohio is the furthest south I've ever lived. I was born in Michigan and my parents were Canadians.

Since I'm not American, this may not qualify but I thought it was fun to try anyway. Apparently, I'm a Yank all the way, which makes sense since my U.S. trips have mainly been to New York and California.
