    My sunset

The sunset tonight was awesome. So, having a fairly new digital camera, I snapped a pic. It's not great, but it kind of works.

The sunset's actually a lot more orange than that, but you get the idea.

Thanks! I love to take pictures. I have a new Canon Elph for my regular photos, and a new cheapie digital camera for my web stuff. Still getting used to both of them.

    John,
Your picture is very nice with the three colors I'm glad you did not center the tree.

    John and others.
I'm looking for a manual/automatic SLR camera needed for a photography class. Could you either suggest a few brands or some specifics I should keep in mind while I shop for a new camera? (Previously, I borrowed a camera that was over 30 years old--any help from anyone would be appreciated).:

Eldee, you can go to www.nikonslr.com and browse their selections (Nikon, IMO makes the best SLR cameras, as I grew up with a really nice one). A little research will go a long way. The thing about an SLR camera is it's not so much the camera, but the skill of the photographer, that makes all the difference.

I always wanted to mess around with b&w scenic photgraphy. I shot a few rolls, and decided it was too tough.

    Thanks John!

I took a quick peek at that website and it seems to have a lot of useful information.

I bought a Canon Elph about three years ago - and it's quite honestly the best camera I've ever had. I've worked it hard and it is still taking great pictures.

I'm looking to get a digital camera for my web stuff, too. Haven't decided what to get, yet.
