Those were the worst! I would need to storyboard the entire question, seriously, I'd need a train, track, diorama, and individual miniature oranges and apples for the cargo, if needed. I had to enact it if I were to have a pray at figuring it out.

| Re: Things you have never understood! I love to do the Jumble and the Crossword Puzzle in the daily newspaper. And the kids and I always took those word puzzle books with us for trips by car or plane. But Sudoku is the one that I just cannot grasp. |

| Re: Things you have never understood! I know this sounds stupid, but I think I will die never getting this. I am still convinced that people on the westcoast get 27 hours in the day and not 24. I am an eastcoaster. I know I sound really dumb posting it, but glad I could finally let it out ![]() |

No, not dumb at all! I love reading this thread and seeing that I'm not the only one who struggles with these concepts! I can't keep the time zones straight either! Count me among those who love crossword puzzles. I also love sudoku. And I've discovered a sort of word puzzle called Places, Please to which I am totally addicted - I've ordered entire books of only these puzzles in the mail on a regular basis. If they had a subscription, like they do with the variety puzzle magazines and such, I'd get it. It's just the math word problems that I really can't do. I mean, I can, but I need the same set-up as lopevian, and really, if you have to do that, what's the point? There's absolutely no fun in it at all.

| Re: Things you have never understood! I've never understood why cream cheese qualifies as a dairy product (sold in that section of grocery stores). It does not contain calcium. Odd. |

| Re: Things you have never understood! Who and whom. I can never remember when "whom" is appropriate. I usually just stick with "who" and probably sound stupid when I'm wrong. ![]()
