I'm a door checker. I'll drive around the block to make sure I see that I remembered to close the garage door. I've also driven miles back to my house, apartment, or dorm room (back in the day) to make sure it was locked, and when Mr. LG is out of town I'm up checking the outside door locks a couple times a night. I've also been a OCD alarm clock checker, up several times a night to check to make sure my two clocks (clock radio and battery back up) are both set, but I don't do that anymore unless I have a particular meeting in the morning as I know my daughter won't let anyone sleep in past 6:30 anyway.

This thread makes me feel more normal - cool.

I was just thinking, we'd all make a fun bunch at a party

And yes, I mean that in a good way

LOL Sid! When I was younger, I used to have to walk in-step with whomever I was with. It annoyed the heck out of me, and everyone around me, but I couldn't stop.

Thankfully, I've gotten over it. But new compulsions have just taken their place.

    :raises hand:

Compulsive alarm checker here too. I'll even wake myself up in the middle of the night to make sure it's a>on and b>set for the right time.

I guess I just don't trust myself that I got it right the last 90 times I checked.
If you go through a lot of hammers each month, I don't think it necessarily means you're a hard worker.
It may just mean that you have a lot to learn about proper hammer maintenance.

I share a bath with 7 other girls
    I saw that movie...

Hey, John, my wife and I play the license plate game all the time. We have a set of specific rules for the best possible word that can be formed with the three-letter groupings on each plate. The rest of you probably would rather gargle sulfurous hot springs water than hear this, but I know John will be interested, so here goes:

    1) The three letters may not appear consecutively in the word.
    2) The first and last letters of the license plate grouping may not appear first and last in the generated word.
    3) The word may not contain extraneous common prefixes or suffixes (like IN- or DIS- or -LESS or -NESS, etc.).

    Example: ADE

    Unacceptable words include:
    ADEPT
    ADAGE
    GARDENER
    MANDIBLE
    ADMITTED
    HARDNESS
    ADJUSTMENT

    Acceptable excellent words might be:
    GRANDFATHER
    SANDPAPER

As far as my OCD behaviors, my wife can't stand the fact that I always have to have both light switches pointing the same direction if two switches share a light fixture. This sometimes requires wandering around and turning off switches all the way across a room in order to fix the ones that might be askew right next to me, but I always feel better if they're either both pointing up or both pointing down at the same time.
When you're ten years old and a car drives by and splashes a puddle of water all over you, it's hard to decide if you should go to school like that or try to go home and change and probably be late. So while he was trying to decide, I drove by and splashed him again. - Jack Handey

I would be quivering behind a pile of discarded towels, hoping not to get caught...

Toilet paper roll must face with the roll coming over the top, never under. (and I will change it if Mr. B does it wrong) I think I've even changed it at our best friend's house once!!!

Ah Bravo, we'd never be able to live together because I'm compulsive about the other way. And I will change it if I'm at a family member's or close friend.
