Oh, that is a very nice tradition of the red and white corsages! Maybe I'll get my mom a white one as this is the first year she doesn't have her mom, my Baba. Would I get a white one for my Dad as well because his Mom passed a very long time ago? Then all 3 of us girls would wear red? Is that how it works?
We're going out for Szechuan tomorrow night at her favorite place. She doesn't like to do too much anymore.
Yep Misskitty, one wears a red flower if their mom is alive or a white one if their mom has passed.
I am watching the local news right now and one of the anchors is wearing a pin on her jacket of a red flower. I did a double take thinking this is her way of celebrating mother's day (since she won't be on air on Sunday)!

My Mom's birthday is today, sister's is tomorrow, and Mother's Day is Sunday, so we will be having one big old party Sunday. It's one of those things I hate the idea of, but usually turn out ok. (Just as long as no one reminds Diva Baby Sis that we do remember this is her 40th. The rest of us are snickering behind her back--even Mom)

What is wrong with this picture? It is Sunday, Mother's day. I am the ONLY one up. I made the coffee and the other 2 are sleeping in. I'm hungry and my choices are to wake them up to cook for me or just make cereal.
We are having a nice dinner tonight, but I just hope they don't wreck the kitchen. I went on a marathon cleaning spree yesterday and the kitchen looks great. Maybe I will forgo food today so it will stay that way. Nah, never happen, even if we don't cook.

Happy Mothers' Day to all. I just had our traditional "breakfast in bed" even though I've been up for hours. I just had toast with my coffee in anticipation and was given pancakes with homemade strawberry sauce, and herbed hash browns. Now I'm stuffed. That was daughter #3. Daughter #1 called on her way to the airport - she has 4 of her students flying today and then waitressing tonight. She's coming home next weekend for her sister's birthday. Son #2 is taking me out for dinner tonight.
Happy Mother's day to all FORT mothers (and even single fathers who have to be both mothers and fathers to their kids).
My mom, my sister and myself (all mothers this year) are being treated by our hubbies to a nice brunch at Château Vaudreuil, which has a gorgeous setting. My son has had fever since Thursday, but seems to be feeling better today, so hopefully we'll still be able to make it.
