    Zucchini

Can you still buy Zucchini these days or is the season over?

Anyone ever use anything as a substitute for zucchini when it's called for in a cake?

Hmmm, I don't know if the season is over or not.
    I haven't bought any in a while.
We call them courgettes in England, not relevant but I thought I'd just add it anyway

I would probably just go out and buy a huge icecream cake.

I'm really no use to you at all BF, sorry

You can still get them here, although they're getting a little large, as it's late in the season. I saw them last weekend at the Farmer's Market.

I can get it year round here, usually.

As for a substitute, another type of squash should work fine.

Thanks guys...and I actually started doing some research because I thought maybe squash and zucchini were the same thing. On one web site, it said that zucchini was also known as green squash -- which I'm still not convinced of, but I think I'll give it a try

Bravo, not exactly the same but similar. I worked as a cook for over 12 years and substituted summer (yellow) squash for zucchini many times without any problems.

As a side note: butternut squash is yummy.

Dylan's weird uncle grows zucchini and they gave us one that I swear to god was at least four pounds and 75 cm long.

I was like, noooo! when Dylan said he'd take it. Ugh!

    Ewww. Zucchini in cake?
If you go through a lot of hammers each month, I don't think it necessarily means you're a hard worker.
It may just mean that you have a lot to learn about proper hammer maintenance.
