Daylight Savings Time Starts 3/11/07

FYI - this is much earlier this year! Don't forget to change the clocks on Sat night (early Sunday morning)!!

Beginning in 2007, most of the United States begins Daylight Saving Time at 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March and reverts to standard time on the first Sunday in November. In the U.S., each time zone switches at a different time.

Spring forward, Fall back

During DST, clocks are turned forward an hour, effectively moving an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening.

It is a sad commentary on the state of science education, at least where I live, that there are people who think that DST somehow causes the longer hours of daylight in the summer.

ugh, no! Now I'll loose an hours sleep on a night I dont get much sleep anyway! I'll have to take a sleeping pill around 8 pm to be tired enough to fall asleep by 10!

A few months ago, hubby and I finally decided to replace several of our clocks around the house -- the ones that are digital, such as the bedroom alarm clocks, clock in the kitchen, etc. We replaced it with those kinds that you plug into the outlet, then just forget it about. It sends signals out to the national clock and synch's itself to it. So if we lose power, after power is restored, the clock checks and sets itself to correct time for my timezone, and twice a year when the Daylight Savings begins then ends, it corrects itself to that also. So I don't have to worry about changing then. I love those clocks

Don't forget to also change your batteries in your smoke detectors. It's a good habit to change those when you change your clocks twice a year.
