No traditions here. Can't say I recall ever having any.

Seem to recall a recent picture of a young Gabriel in a new suit or was that Newf?

Someone got a new suit for Christmas.

About the only ones we have left is that we open one gift on Christmas Eve. and we have Mimosas and pumpkin bread while opening our gifts on Christmas day. Even our menu changes now from year to year.

I guarantee that you didn't see me in a suit :nono There are only three suit-wearing occasions in my life--going to dog shows if I'm exhibiting or stewarding, going to the opera, and funerals.

When I was a kid, ours was an open-presents-on-Christmas-Eve family, with stockings from Santa on Christmas morning.

I saw someone in a suit! I know I did!

Ha, I used to be like you and the suits with nylons. Living in Fliorida, those things were hell. I only wore them on "formal" occasions. Moving farther north where its much colder, they can be a lifesaver now.

Ok OK you outed me... When I was a kid we used to get a suit for Easter *ahem*Cough cough* gabriel got a SPORT JACKET and pants never a suit, the older brother got a suit. My mother said I looked better in a sport jacket either red or white with black pants, and of course the red handkerchief in the white jacket and the white handkerchief in the red jacket. And I always had hush puppies slip on "suede" shoes either gray or black. Was it any wonder I grew up liking Dean Martin?

    Re: Holiday Traditions

Well, we have food traditions, but as far as anything else, the only one I really remember so much was that when my brothe, older sister and I were in our late teens and early twenties, we would always come up with some excuse why all three of us needed to go "to the store" after the gift thing in the morning but before Christmas dinner. Actually we would be out getting the munchies
I have found the Truth and it doesn't make sense.

That used to be one of our traditions too.

Gabriel, I KNEW I had seen that. I think the red sport jacket was probably the sportiest color! Your mom had style and taste.
And for me, I think that the style and traditions of getting dressed up like that are sadly missing today. Everyone is so casual these days. I like seeing kids get all dressed up for the holidays. Probably a good thing I had a girl as she used to get a Christmas dress and Easter dress (my sister made these for a while, she sewed beautirully and made these really fancy dresses called Daisy Kingdom dresses for my daughter) and shoes and I'd always do her hair. She usually had a hat for Easter. I would have driven a boy mad with suits and handkerchiefs and hats and such!

Thanks for coming clean about your holiday traditions.

    Re: Holiday Traditions

We are heading to new traditions this year...We will be staying home and I will be making spaghetti w/meatballs for Christmas dinner. Hopefully we will also decide on garlic bread. I was going to make lasagne, but was outvoted.
