Allie! That reminds me of my kids! When my husband wakes me up in the morning I always roll over and say "Two more minutes!" and now my two youngest do the same. "Just two more minutes, ma" The sad thing is that my youngest is only two and she's upped it. She'll roll over and say "Five more minutes" *snore*
One of these days I'll stop being sensitive. Until then, I'll continue to be devastated on a daily basis. Life breaks my heart.

There's a 7th grade boy who always comes into my work and hangs out on weekends with me sometimes. Well, I was watching ANTM saturday, and he said, "if they have America's Next Top Model, why don't they have America's Next Plus-Size Model? So we can see somethin' other than stupid anorexic looking chicks." I wanted to hug him lol

When my 11 year old friend was visiting last week, we were out and about in the countryside looking for old bridges. We found one, but the ONLY remaining covered bridge in SC was elusive. We keep talking about the Campbell Covered Bridge and when we didn't find it, Tay was very upset as she was looking forward to seeing "a Camel covered bridge", as she had never before seen a bridge covered in camels.

She was even more disappointed when we explained it was NOT covered in camels, but was covered in wood and was called the CAMPBELL covered bridge. At least we nipped that in the bud before she imagined it covered in Campbell's soup cans.

Our nephew celebrated his ninth birthday today. He wanted to go to a Japanese restaurant where they cook the food on the table. My parents, brother and my husband and I all went to this birthday dinner. I jokingly asked the nephew how old he was. He sighed and said "I am nine. I'll never be eight again but I have fond memories of being eight". Then, we ordered Sushi and he hadn't ever eaten that before. We explained what it was and he tried it and liked it. As we were leaving, he saw the Koi pond at the front of the restaurant and asked my husband "Is that where they catch the Sushi?". Funny kid! On Christmas Eve, he got very anxious to open presents and yelled "I am not getting any younger! Y'all need to get in here and start unwrapping some presents".

Oh , that is too funny. Would be even more funny if they did get the fish out of the pond.

I have actually eaten in a restaurant where you did pick out your fish swimming in the pool in the middle of the restaurant. I was about 12 and my parents took me there as a very special treat. (this was a very expensive restaruant). I did NOT want to pick out my own fish. I don't remember what I had, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't fish.

I have fond memories of when I was 8 too.
    That was too funny.

Re: Cutest things you've heard your kids say

I am tutoring some kids every week, and one of my girls is 10 years old, and quite dramatic....big surprise, right? We were getting ready to read, and one of the 10 year old boys was standing at our table (it's a community center, and you have no privacy). I looked up at him and said to him (trying to get him to go away), "She likes you." Well, she went off...."No, I don't! Why did you say that???", repeatedly. He blushed, and left. Well, I started to feel a little badly and told her that I'd tell him, later, that she didn't say it, that I was just teasing. She went on talking, and then she said, "But I do like him, though!" Neither she nor I noticed that he had returned and was standing right there when she said it!! He broke out into the biggest grin...and her chin hit the table, in shock!! She had nothing more to say! It was waaay too cute!!

Re: Cutest things you've heard your kids say

We have a 3 year old who lives downstairs from us. One day my son was in his room doing his homework and the little boy ran to his door waiting for his dad to come and open it. He started singing twinkle twinkle little star just out of the blue while waiting. My son said it was the sweetest thing he'd ever heard.

I was in the New Fangled Coffee Thread admitting my love for Starbucks and it reminded me of a story about my 6 year old nephew.

My nephew is a hoot and never fails to have something funny come out of his mouth. We were at Starbucks one day and I was getting a vanilla frappacino....I let him have a taste of it and he was licking his lips and he told me "Aunt bb, order me one of those 'grab-a-cheetos' too!!!"
