My box fan has to be on to drown out all other noise--I can't sleep in a hotel of its too quiet, and have to tune the tv to a channel with no programming, for the white noise.
OK smarty britches, you got me. I claim having a bad cold for 4 days and just having gotten home from a trip to the ER with my daughter and her sprained foot when I wrote this.
I haven't been thinking clearly or writing sensably all week.

I also sleep with light jazz playing softly.

BRRRRRRRRRRRRR We had a late cold front and it's 56 this morning. what happened to our warm weather??? I had to dig for a sweater as I had put up all my winter clothes.

It's much chillier here this morning than yesterday. But that's OK. I like to sleep when it's chilly with the windows open - all buried beneath the covers with just my face sticking out so my cheeks get cold, but the rest of me is nice and warm. And with a little kitty all curled up next to me (Whiskers).

I've never stayed awake long enough to know the position in which I fall asleep I used to do the foot-outside-the blankets, but Bjorn cured me of that when he was a puppy--his nose was cold!

    My sleeping requirements:

Room has to be completely dark.
    Fan on.
Freshly showered with correct nightgown on.
    Freasly made bed.
    Hand brace on. (carpel tunnel)
3 pillows. 2 for backup and the favorite gets scruched just so. Covered with cotton pillowcases embroidered by random grandmothers.
Bedroom door closed, glass of water by bed.
On left side with covers completely covering everything except the top of my head.
    C-pap on. No animals allowed.
I very much believe in rescuing animals, not buying them.

OMG livin! I feel so much better about my requirements!

Pillows stacked up on the side of the bed
2 fans on with a 3rd for backup on noisy nights
Sleep number bed sunken in to cradle my stomach
Sleep on my stomach with one arm under my pillow
Head on the very edge of the pillow
    Blankets up around my ear
Other arm tucked under the stack of pillows so no ghosts can touch me
Glass of water by the bed
Nightgown or pjs that are not bunching up on me

It's a wonder we get any sleep anywhere besides home!!
    Yup, with donuts!!

Oh I forgot about the 3 or 4 trips to empty my bladder before I can lay down and get comfortable!
And I don't even wait to be tired anymore, I just take medication to sleep. I've had insomnia since I was 7 years old.

Holy heck we are a picky bunch! Forgot to add the vaseline. And after a half hour of laying there, a final trip to the bathroom. If I drink anything 2 hours before bedtime I have to get up in the middle of the night which sucks.

I'm another one that can't sleep anywhere but in bed. Sorry to hear about the insomonia Buglover. My brother is the same way. Except I think part of his problem is too much liquor.

Does anyone who leaves the TV on when they are sleeping had a problem with the shows affecting their dreams? I've decided that I can't get a good, comfortable, uninterrupted night with the television on in the background. Used to date a man who left his TV on all night, but was always tired. Once I convinced him to turn it off, his rest was better.
