He does love watches, but that is nothing for the "long haul" since it will eventually die...but that's not out of the question. I think his study is in something that is rather non-specific, like Interdisciplinary Studies....whatever the heck that is. I swear, kids today.....

CA has some good ideas. Does he have a job already? Maybe something that would be useful for work? When my (female) cousin graduated, my mom got her a tote bag that she could bring to work, so maybe a briefcase or something along those lines.

What about a big laundry basket of goodies? Does he already live on his own? If not, doing a big basket of cooking essentials (pans, measuring cups, etc) would definitely provide for the long haul. Even a big basket of other household stuff would be wonderful. Of course that only works if he's not already on his own. Even if he is, you could find out what he's missing. I love the "never ending basket" of goodies as a present personally!

    A really nice pen!

When I graduated from college, my mom and dad gave me a very nice briefcase. And my sister gave me a bunch of fun "teacher stuff" like one of those fancy-schmancy chalk holders (because way back then we had blackboards and chalk), stickers, a lesson plan book -- stuff related to my degree.

I'm making a list of all of these suggestions, although I really can't see a pen making that big of a difference to him. To me....YES! If he were becoming an attorney or doctor, maybe...and only then, after professional school. I think that pen/pencil thing begins waaay before you graduate college, unless you are a late bloomer! I require #3 pencils and particular pens.

You know, I just realized that tomorrow is April Fool's Day.......and I've got to go deal with all of those little idiot children with their little idiot April Fool's jokes. I'm hoping they'll be worn out by the time I see them. Just kill me now!

Oh thank goodness it's against the rules to play April Fool's jokes at work!! They can be fun but really annoying.
    Yup, with donuts!!

    Somehow, that doesn't surprise me.

I really like the joke where you replace the creme filling in the Oreo cookies with toothpaste! Guess you've got to get some without the super-minty smell, huh?

Or cayenne in the coffee pot.
Or a telephone message to return a call to Mr. Lyon with the zoo's phone number.

Anyone have a good joke I can play on my 3 - 6th grade tutees? (Nothing too mean, because I know all those! No, seriously, mine are really good kids, but I want to do something!)

Well, they do make or used to make mint Oreos! Anyway when free food is involved many people don't stop to think.
As some of you know I'm a printer--years ago there was a big problem with someone stealing lunches ( , I know...) and one of the guys got fed up and put yellow ink on a ham sandwich instead of mustard (it's soybean based, nontoxic). The hoped for effect of seeing somone 'marked' with hard to remove ink didn't happen, but the stealing stopped at least for a while.
I have found the Truth and it doesn't make sense.
