I feel your pain. It's less than half of my share of the rent for my converted one bedroom with a roommate.

For me it is just a little above my house payment.

$500 is about half my rent for a 2 bedroom apartment but it's just about a monthly car payment for most people here.

    Re: FORT Koffee Klatch

I just found out that I'm going to be going to a formal function in Sept. I know, it's a while away, but apparantly, I'm going to need the time.

I am actually excited, how often do I get to dress up in a gown, have my hair and nails done, etc.? Uh, the last time was 19 years ago for my wedding!

But I was just browsing some online sites for dress ideas and here is the problem.
Everything is sleeveless. I can't do sleeveless. And everything else with sleeves is very dowdy looking.

Anyone have any favorite stores or websites that you can reccomend. I really am looking forward to this and want a really nice dress (affordable, but nice, with sleeves. Not asking a lot huh? ) that doesn't bare my upper arms which I am really uncomfortable with.

I only have a black dress with sleeves. It's mid length and probably not formal. I check around for you mrd. I know someone at my work has purchased formal attire in the past few months!

I'd suggest you look into possibly having something made to your specifications. That doesn't necessarily have to cost an arm and a leg, and you get something that should be perfectly fit for just lil ol' you.

Wish I could help, but I don't wear dresses, and I've been out of retail for 22 years.

How do you feel about putting your arms in casts for the day?

MRD I would usually head straight to eBay and type in Plus dress or just Lane Bryant. You can get a really nice looking dress for very little. eBay has been fantastic for me since we have only a few stores in town and nothing that is very formal unless you go to a bridal boutique. I'm just not that flashy.

Your other option might be a dress maker. You can probably have a made to measure dress done for less than $200.

You can get a nice sleeveless dress that you like and then just get a complimentary wrap or shawl to cover your arms
