When I was teaching aerobics, I used to make frozen wash cloths for my classes. That, along with the water, made all of the difference in the world. I'd wet them, stick them in little sandwich bags, and throw them in the freezer. They went to class in a styrofoam cooler, they were returned to the bags after class, and returned to me. It was a very popular move, for sure!

One thing we used to do when our daughter played soccer in the summer - we'd buy packages of cheap washcloths at Costco, wash them, then while still damp, freeze overnight and take to her games in a cooler. The girls loved them and would put them on their heads, back of their necks, wipe their faces, etc. You could bring a couple in a small cooler to keep by your seat maybe? Good luck tomorrow.

ETA: Shay, I see we were posting around the same time with the same great idea!

livin4reality - I hope you stay nice and cool tomorrow.

pineapple - Thank you for your good thoughts to add to those of the other kind FORTers.

Flossie is still far but we're already getting some 50mph gusts, with a downed pole in the neighbohood. Hoping this thing veers away or quiets down soon.

Just thought I'd (hopefully) wrap the subject up with the apparent weakening of the storm. We're still getting intermittent funky weather but nothing serious. My friends in Hilo are fine. Though they point out that the last two hurricanes were supposed to be bad there, and they weakened, and then veered and hit Kauai (north of us.) Hopefully that won't be the case this time.

Anyway I've had too many mini scares lately. I'm ready to chill with a beer and lots of TV.

Thanks again to those who cared!

Lei:Hope that all is well with you.

My retired parents spend most of their time on the beach in the Florida Panhandle. They roll down the hurricane shutters, gather up their dog and hit the road to Birmingham in advance of hurricanes though. Their next-door-neighbor at the beach (he lives there year-round) just rolls down the shutters, takes his hearing aids out and sleeps through the storms. He always inspects my parents' house and deck afterward and then calls them and lets them know if there is any damage. They've lost several decks, but not have not had much house damage over the years. Take care and stay safe!

My son and DIL are leaving Friday for a short trip to Hawaii, so hopefully everything will be calmed down by then. Glad you are ok, lei.

    Re: FORT Koffee Klatch

Has anyone ever ordered from or received an "Edible Arrangement"??

My aunt is turning 85 next week. There is a party, but I obviously can't attend. I thought about sending flowers, but thought this might be something different. Her health is getting fragile, so I know that there won't be too many more birthdays, so I really wanted to do something nice for her. She's always been so good to me and my daughter.

But the edible bouquets are fruit made to look like flowers. The website looks nice, but I don't know anyone that has had any experience from them, so was hoping to get some feedback before I ordered.

MRD - We've ordered them at work for people who are sick or whatever. I've never heard anything but raves from the people who received them. They said the arrangement looks absolutely gorgeous and the fruit tastes delicious. I say go for it!
