Thanks schmoo2 - I think we have decided to forgo Medieval Times in favour of an extra night at the Falls.. supper at the RainForest Cafe. (she'll like that too)

and of course we are all wishing for a quick recovery for MRD.

Add me to the list of well-wishers, too. Get better soon, myrosiedog.

Oh, and by the way: I can never hear about Medieval Times without thinking of that scene in Cable Guy.

Me too! I just thinking of Janeane Garafalo as their serving wench!
Serving wench: "There were no utensils in medieval times. Hence, there are no utensils at Medieval Times."
Matthew Broderick's character: "But there was Coke?"

I went to Medieval Times many years ago with a group of friends and it was really fun. I don't remember it being that expensive, but it has been a while.

I haven't been to Medival Times but I have been to the Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge, TN. I'm glad I went, that once. It was fun but with all the other things to do in the area I'd rather spend the money on a different attraction.
There is a medieval dinner theatre near my brothers house that I'd like to go to. But probably once will be enough.

The Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge, TN? I'm almost afraid to ask, but what's that?

I've been there, too. It's like Medieval Times (I guess, I haven't actually been to that one) -- there's a big ring in the middle, and seats around the sides, and they divide you into the North and South, and feed you things like a whole chicken (and I don't remember there being silverware) while you watch them put on a show that involves horses. As I recall, it attempts to tell the story of American history (well, white people in America), interspersed with rodeo clowns, horse tricks and the like. So, part circus, part tacky Dollywood show.

Poor baby. Hope she can come back and post soon. We got our exchange student from Thailand today. He's a cutie, but shy and not very good English. He went to bed early (exhausted) so not much to report yet, but I think it will be a good experience.
    Count your blessings!
