Thanks, Pikachu. I don't know how to reduce the size. Maybe I will try to find a smaller image.

You could use "pixresizer", a free program that resizes pictures.

Never heard of that. Thanks, Punkin.

Have any of you ever started cleaning a room and, in the middle of sorting things and tossing stuff out, you wonder how the HELL all that stuff fit in one room? I can't believe how much I've gotten rid of but my office still looks like a hoarded room. It actually looks WORSE than it did before I started. My car is FULL and I still have more to pack in. Among other things, I'm donating a giant box of Christmas decorations (I literally had a half dozen boxes and bags of that stuff), six bags of books, luggage and tons of assorted c@ap and you can't even tell anything is missing! I'm headed to donate it all tomorrow so I can reload!

I've thrown out hundreds of pages of notes and paperwork from college (why did I keep that stuff?) and have a whole bankers box full of paperwork to go to the shred service.

My mom flies in a week from this coming Thursday to help and I'M NOT READY! I mean, she's coming to help, but I'd like to get things to a more manageable level before she gets here. Right now, it's out of control. It's like everything has expanded.

I know I'm getting rid of tons of stuff, but right now it just feels like I'm shuffling things around and just moving piles from room to room. Remember these games? This is what it feels like:

I'm taking pictures along the way and maybe I'll post a few when I have a good "after" picture to share. Right now, it's ALL "before."

I keep telling myself that this will be SO much better in just a few months...

You’re such an inspiration. I need to do this but it’s so overwhelming.
    Count your blessings!

I bought a house so I would have a spare room where I could put stuff. 26 years later, I still haven't located that spare room. ;^)

It's feeling less like inspiration and more like procrastination!

I've avoided doing this for YEARS. I'd resolve to clean it out and then, every time I stood in the doorway surveying the situation, I'd just feel so overwhelmed that I'd immediately find something else to do! My mom understands my tendency to do this, which is why she's sort of forcing me into it by flying up here to help. I mean, it's not against my will, but she knows that if she makes the effort (and spends the money) to come visit, that will be the kick in the butt I need. I may be okay wasting my OWN time, but I'm not going to waste someone else's.

My Mom used to apply that form of guilt as well. Worked every time.

Bed bug dogs are back tomorrow. The building sent all furniture from the common areas out for cleaning and then steamed the carpets and floors, etc. I passed last time they came through, but we have new people moving in all the time. The dogs and trainers come from Colorado - a young group of adults - quite pleasant and quiet. Here's hoping I've escaped once again.
