They've clearly made a LOT of changes to their lives since then. The context in which I knew them wasn't one where I would necessarily know anything about their religious beliefs, but I don't think they were this religious back then. Now they have a whole passel of kids who they home school, they live on a rural farm and everything on their FB is very religious. I saw pictures of them baptizing people in a river and of them at various worship retreats.

Anyway, nothing wrong with any of that; I was just surprised because this is quite different from how they were when I knew them. Plus, I'd never seen a Christian sect that pulled so strongly from Judaism in its symbols. They ARE Christians - they say so on their FB and on several blogs they maintain.

Anyone have any clue what this is? I did a little searching online and didn't find anything.
It could also be Christian Churches of God. Christian Churches of God World Conference I have a family member who belongs to this sect of Christianity. They follow doctrine from the Old Testament. They don't celebrate Christmas or birthdays and they celebrate Passover. They also have dietary restrictions, much like Judaism.

Or some non-dem Christian churches run by televangelists or wannabe televangelists.
Any of these holidays are great for bringing in extra offerings.

Signed a deal with a realtor last night to put our house on the market. We're at a stage where we're done with home ownership. Our plan is to move to a casita-style development (no upstairs neighbors!), which will include all of the yard work, maintenance, etc. We were pleasantly surprised with how much he wants us to list the house for.

AZ, that sounds great! I've been also considering how it would be nice to avoid all the house and yard upkeep. The new place you describe sounds wonderful.

I think it's probably more likely to be one of the churches suggested by AZC and CCL. The pics in their blogs and everything else I saw didn't suggest a televangelist or cult leader or anything.

Like I said above, it doesn't really matter; I was just curious. I had heard years ago that they were splitting up so I was surprised that they were even still together, much less living a lifestyle SO different from the one they lived back then. Also, another couple sharing a FB account. What's up with that!?

I am a President Obama fan, but that tan suit is a disaster! I can't believe Michele and the girls let him out looking like that! Have you lost your mind, man???

I'm not a President Obama fan at all and I think he looks great in the suit!
