Ouch AZ! I'm so happy you weren't hurt worse.

Sitting in the casino bar last night drinking sodas, my friend and I heard some of the best/worst pick up lines. The best response was a woman who said to a guy "I'm going to go sit over there...let me know if you suddenly become interesting".
We loved it so much we bought her a drink. Lol.

On todays schedule, lots of junk food and cheesy Lifetime movies.

    Have a great day!

prhoshay, I focus on helping someone else with a problem, because what seems big to them will seem small to me when I compare it to what I am feeling at that moment. By the time I am finished, I am revved up enough to resolve my own problem.

I either get very quiet, or I sing in stressful situations. I used to be told that I didn't take things seriously or I didn't care because I did not explode or have a tantrum. It surprised me that people would make assumptions like that, but I came to understand that that was common thinking. I've never been one who likes to "put on a show".
I get quiet when I am stressed. My sister used to just take off when her emotions put her over the top and I remember that that made me feel so bad that I never wanted to be like that, so I guess I bury it. If I am at home, I get busy when I am really stressed out and clean house. As I clean, I gradually feel better and my house benefits from it all! If I am too tired to clean house, I go to bed with a book to distract myself.

I sing when I am happy My singing isn't that good so if I did it when I was stressed, it wouldn't do it for me.

I relieve stress by taking the dogs for long walks! We go through gorgeous trails. The dogs so love it, we often spot rabbits and we take off running so they can try to catch up(( and never do) Total stress reliever!

Fanny Mare, that's what I used to do too. We have a lot of beautiful country "roads" in my neighborhood and I loved walking the dogs. I sure miss that.

These days, there are times when things just get to be too much for me and I guess I "put on a show". I used to be able to handle things much better but these days, I get really overwhelmed with bad news sometimes, but I always try to stay positive no matter how much crap comes my way.

This is an interesting conversation. I must not be stressed at all, just tired, because I am just sitting here staring at the computer, sipping on a glass of wine. I just finished a big volunteer project I work on that is a reading program for students in my area. I feel like I have given it all I've got and I guess that feels good? It turned out well for the most part and we got kids to read and enjoy lots more books, so in my mind it is a mission accomplished for now.

That sounds wonderful, Cootie. Just the other day I saw Ellen Degeneres gift a school librarian with a brand new bookmobile. She was so grateful and so enthusiastic! I thought of you and of course my late mother-in-law, who was both a school librarian and a public librarian.

The teacher that was gifted with the book mobile is from my area. She teaches in the Union school district which is about 22 miles from me. I have a friend who sub teachers for Union.

When I am stressed I shut down and don't talk.

When I'm stressed, I bake too much, so I give away breads and cookies.
