Maybe. I hope it wasn't meant in bad taste.

But yesterday I did try to reconcile, I guess.

(to Deb's post on the previous page…oops!)
Also, don't disregard the local music scene. Ticket/cover/admission prices are lower than for celebrity concerts. (For me, cost is a concern these days.) And so many "unknowns" are really, really good. You and friends can have a lot more fun for a lot less coin.
    Just a thought.

There's a local here, called Craig Smart, who has started the music business a few years ago. I don't think anybody on FORT knows of him, though.

A few of his songs have made the radio. I think he's good.

I called my dad tonight to tell him about my job interviews and what else was going on. He mentioned that their grocery store had t-bone steaks on sale and asked if I would be ok with having steak for Thanksgiving instead of turkey. I had sure!!!!!!!! I'm not a traditionalist. I don't have to have turkey for Thanksgiving every year. Yum, I'm really looking forward to a big, juicy steak!! That's certainly something to be thankful for.

I do love my turkey, but honestly, you could serve me Campbells Chunky Soup & I'd be good with it.
It's the spending time with family, & the whole someone else cooking thing that I enjoy.
If there's nothing planned with family I just eat a plain old supper, like any other day & call my children to wish them Happy Thanksgiving.

I've had other friends/aquaintences invite me to their T-Day Dinners, but never go. They seem to think it's sad or depressing if you don't have your big Dinner. Spending time with someone else's family, even if I know them, isn't really how I want to spend a holiday.

I guess I don't have an issue with being by myself. That doesn't equate with lonliness to me. Just peacefullness.
However, I do prefer being with my children & their families if the situation permits.
When no one feels like cooking, we've been known to go out to a restaurant for turkey dinner. Not as much fun, but we're getting to spend time together.

The opposite coast, unfortunately. For what it would cost you to come to Florida for Thanksgiving, you could eat at the ritziest steak restaurant in San Diego.
