They are calling for a wintery mix tonight and it has been in the 80's here all week.......mother nature needs an attitude adjustment.

I'm really scared of what hell this summer is going to bring.

Me, too. It's only the first week of May, and we have a full-blown August/September Santa Ana with red flag warnings, three full-on wildfires (knock on wood, not very close to me so far), and a bunch of small brush fires that were caught and put out early. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the low 90s here on the coast (hotter inland) and even drier.
    They're predicting a 20-degree drop on Saturday (74 -- normal for us), then 60s and drizzle/rain.
Everyone yammers about California earthquakes, but in my experience, the fires are the scary thing. And what makes me mad is that so many are preventable. The fire that's closest to LA was caused by some inconsiderate idiot who threw a cigarette butt out of his/her car window. That's bad enough no matter when, but really, during a Santa Ana???
    Really???!!!!

In my fantasy, someone invents a force field that boomerangs cigarette butts back into the car when someone tries to toss it out the window. As if it just disappears when they fling it out into the world. Do smokers not have ash trays in their cars? Mine came with one and I don't even smoke......Now I'm trying to remember if I've ever even opened my ash tray. Huh. I don't know.

We're in the high-80's/low-90's here. Not happy. It's way too early in the year for this. On the plus side, my tomato plants are already flowering! If I can keep up with watering, I think I'll have a great crop this summer!

It is going to get down to 40 tomorrow night here. I live in southeastern Louisiana. It is May and we should at least be in a 70s/upper 80s swing. Global warming, climate change, man made, just a cycle, I don't care what anyone wants to call it. This is just record breaking weird.

I like that idea! Or make cigarette butts that don't burn and they could track the DNA back to the person who threw it out.
People that throw them out in a supposedly empty field...could be someone crop of hay that you just destroyed.

We are suppose to have rain...for 5 days and our ground is already saturated.

Talk to the car companies. The last two cars I owned did not have ash trays. As an ex-smoker, I would just pile the butts up in the cupholder until I got where ever I was going!

Seriously!? I've never heard of any car being made without an ash tray. What make(s) of car?
