    Roller skating outdoors, riding our bikes, building tunnels out of cardboard boxes, hopscotch, climbing up EVERYTHING....dangerous or not.... Our kids today are waaaaay too soft! A serious bunch of sissies!!! Serious snowball fights! I got hit in the face with an iceball, and it hurt so bad that I couldn't even cry, much less breathe! Another, larger boy got hit and cried like a baby! The big guys in the neighborhood gave him hell...saying that I didn't cry!! Good ol' Henry! Earned my neighborhood stripes that day!

    I'm sorry, Bunny. My husband's cousin unfortunately lost his girlfriend a few years ago because she was texting him while driving. She was very young as well, only 18. I wish there was a way to disable text messaging once you climb behind the wheel, like the breathalyzer that's attached to steering wheels.

    ...jumping the creek...gee, I slipped , we didn't want to be inside...ever. We even played in the rain (no lightening). You've got so much energy go run laps around the house. not to mention the chores we had to do.

    Which brings up another point... Our parents didn't have to worry about some fruitcake abducting us, because there were other parents and neighbors that looked out after us...back in the day.

    That reminds me of a vacation we took years ago to a resort in Northern Minnesota. My youngest son was about 10 at the time and he managed to "fall" in the lake at least 3 times a day, fully clothed, of course! I remember we had to drive into the nearest town so I could do laundry when I thought I had brought enough clothes along to get us through the whole week. I laugh about it now, but at the time I wasn't amused!

    The carnival's in town... and a guy (who everyone is assuming is a carnie) exposed himself to the girls' softball team at our middle school. Now every student has to take the bus no matter where they live.

    Wow. The carnival's in town? I didn't realize that had any sort of impact on anything. A few times a year, we have visiting circuses or the company that runs the midway for bigger fairs, but it's no big deal.
    I'm surprised to read that this is a "big thing." BTW, where are the cops and/or security? And the licensing board?
