Bunny, thanks for the reminder. I will let my kids know, too. Driving and phones definitely do not mix. Your daughter's story is important to share, but I know it is hard on you at the same time.

okay I have a weird and toally off the wall question and I don't know if anyone can answer it..but maybe someone is a nurse or something and they know the answer..

A&E been running intervention all day and I have watched some of the episodes and the ones that use needles make me cringe..

but why do they have to put it into a vein...can't they just give themselves a shot if they must do it..or is there a reason

What I understand is certain drugs won't do anything or will cause major infections or problems when just put into muscle. I give my son shots that have to be in a muscle, but his chemo has to be in a vein.

Also, into a vein has a more immediate effect (in this case, a "high")

Not only is it faster, the 'high' is more intense, also.

Did any of your see the EMHE episode a weeks ago where a family has started a huge campaign against texting while driving? Their daughter, Alex Brown, was killed in a single car accident on her way to school one morning. She was texting at the time of the accident. They carry the destroyed car on a flatbed to show the kids. They give a presentation and ask the kids to sign a pledge that they will not text and drive. Right now, they are only covering Texas, but they hope to expand to other states.

    Re: FORT Koffee Klatch

In one of my online classes we had a message board discussion about cell phone usage and one of the questions was what we think about using cell phones while driving, either talking or texting. Literally ALL the traditionally-aged students didn't see anything wrong with it, with a couple students stating that they "were really good at texting while driving", and ALL the non-traditionally-aged students were totally against it. I believe there need to be laws put in place in all states making any phone usage while driving illegal, and they need to enforce these laws. The problem is, so many people think they are being safe and that they are "good at it".

Bunny I'm so sorry for this extra heartbreak. You are in my thoughts.
