A friend of mine in Florida sent me this funny (you mentioned window watcher and it reminded me)

"It's been so cold out that my wife has been staring through the kitchen window all day. If it gets much colder, I'm going to have to let her back inside."

My parents priest told this joke at mass a few weeks ago and my parents passed it on to me. Only it was a little different "It's been snowing outside so much that my wife has been staring through the kitchen window. If it snows any more, I'm going to have let her back inside."

Catching up on the conversation here - we get all of the animals mentioned above around here but not coyotes. In addition, we have cougars and bears! They have been sighted very close to my house. I have not seen them myself, but have seen tracks of cougars. And bear scat. Fortunately, there are still some areas that are not populated by people around here within the range of those animals.

I am sure looking forward to these days off from work. I need to spend some time cleaning my house. After that, try to read some books. I am looking forward to sitting under a blanket, sipping cocoa, and not going anywhere.

Enjoy your time off, Cootie. I hope you can make quick work of the house cleaning, so you can indulge yourself in something enjoyable.

I knew I should have written that differently. After my time with my Little Sister, I attended a wine tasting.

A coyote doesn't have a big foot, a huge coyote would be 40 pounds. So I suspect dogs too. MRD, it's rare to actually see a coyote in our kind of habitat, but they are all over the place. They are mostly out at night and very sneaky. Kind of like bobcats; as much messing around in the woods as i do, I have yet to ever see a bobcat in the wild, and not counting out West, only one or two coyotes. And Cootie, I'd be surprised if you don't have them in your area too if you have bears and mountain lions.

I live in the city and we get coyotes all the time.
They're always trying to scare the dogs in the neighborhood.

I just did a little research and our county pays a bounty for coyotes as a way to keep damage to livestock down. Might be why I have never heard of any venturing in my area of town? So yes, they are around here somewhere, I guess?
