Just a note regarding e-filing which my husband told me. Yes you do have to pay for e-filing, but worse, the electronic return does NOT go directly to the IRS. It goes somewhere else first. Another way for someone to get personal information!! Filers, beware!! We are still using the old fashioned stamp and USPS for that one!!

Be careful--are you sure it DOES open? a lot of the newer kind don't.

I couldn't find a way to e-file free either, so went ahead and did it with pen and paper as usual; of course with no kids and really nothing to deduct, it's really easy. The only hard part was writing that check while unemployed!

Gutmutter, be careful...and remember all of your own rules!

Not a Blackberry, I'm guessing? Pulling out the battery is Blackberry's answer to all problems

I hate when those compartments are hard to open. We've had some where once you get the compartment open it's ever harder to get the SIM card out!!

I recently switched to an iPhone, so I don't think I could get to the battery even if I wanted to. As a matter of fact, I don't even know where the SIM card is located in this phone! I'm going to be optimistic and view this as a good thing.

It is, in fact, a Blackberry. The catcher, to what you have said, is that you have to put the battery in before you know you have a reason to pull it out!

I'm back safe and sound. Thanks to all who kept me safe in their prayers. It was just a quick trip to take a load of STUFF to my mom's, but while there, she had a dinner party, we made an arbor for her grapes, and cleaned out her garden goldfish pond (inspired by mine) and got fish for it. The icing on the cake was that when I got back I found out I had a cash offer on my house which has only been on the market for a week! I'm exhausted now, so will catch up with everything tomorrow.
    Count your blessings!

What a busy person you have been Gutmutter. Cash offer? Looks like you'll be selling soon. Might we ask where you will move to, and if you already posted that forgive me, I do not remember.

I'm moving in with my Mom in Ohio (remember? the FORT retirement home? all are welcome ). The people buying my house are from Argentina. They came to look again today and my seller told me they would plunk the cash down today if I were ready to move out, they're that excited. They waived a house inspection which would be required if they were going through a bank... another point in my favor because we're talking about an old farm house with attached barn and shed. They're letting me stay 'til the end of the school year which gives me time to finish clearing out my STUFF.
    Count your blessings!
