And watch out for the return of the buzzards if you are near Hinckley, Ohio.

When I was a kid, I saw a documentary about the buzzards returning to Hinckley, Ohio and I pestered my parents about it for months. I wanted to go to Hinckley and see it. I have NO idea why. We had buzzards in Florida, it wasn't like I'd never seen any.

The other day the kiddos and I went out on the deck to watch the International Space Station fly overhead. I was really surprised how bright it was and the kids thought it was really cool!

I remember that too! They had a little song and everything.
Actually, there is a winter buzzard roost only about a quarter mile from my house, and it is pretty spectacular to see them coming in at night; I counted 73 circling one afternoon, and took some pictures of them in the trees before it got dark. I'll try to find them. Anyway, the first time i saw it happen, I immediately thought "HINKLEY"!

    Kind of like this?

It's a big deal up in northern Ohio. When I lived in Cleveland it was always a news story this time of year.

I"ve seen a sight like that before, only it was thousands of screaming crows amassed in trees on a golf course across the street from my home. Very eerie. It was so noisy that you couldn't help but go out and look.

Unk, I couldn't get the song to play. I remember years ago hearing a corny "love" song whose lyrics included the line, "When the buzzards come back to Hinkley, Ohio, I'll be coming back to you", but I've never been able to find proof of its existence. Hence, my family doesn't believe me.

That is too funny. It reminds me of my own home where my kids are shocked that we used to have to GET UP to change the channel or volume on the TV!!
