It's especially beautiful this week: sunny, mid-70ºs -- definitely "sunscreen and flip-flops" days!

Rain (I don't know how much -- drizzle or El Niño storm) is predicted for the weekend/early next week, so the rain jacket is still in the front of the closet.

But, in the meantime, I'm enjoying the warmth of the sun and the smell of ocean air!

That sounds like heaven to me....
This morning as we were feeding the cows, Mr. Ing made the comment, just think in a few more months it will be 90 degrees and we will be out here mowing and weedeating the yard, and the sweat will be rolling down our backs...

Hate, Hate, Hate Summer!!! The heat and humidity are not my friends.

Cali, Cali....glad to see you back! Hope things improve for you. My bad spurts usually run for about a calendar year (the last one was in 2000). Hope yours is briefer.

Thanks. I usually have streaks. Before all this happened everything was amazing. I got a promotion at work, a new apartment with 2 of my best friends and I met someone who has become very special to me lately Then last week it all went in the opposite direction.

Come here and say that! It takes a lot for me to really get 'cold' per se, but I have not been able to feel warm in what feels like months. The thermostat in my apartment is at 75 right now and I'm wearing 2 heavy hoodie style shirts, 2 pairs of socks and Uggs and my teeth are still chattering.

    Please let spring come soon!

I like that perspective! A warm summer day seems so far away right now, but 3 months doesn't sound that long. I'm tired of feeling cold, too... it makes me crabby.

    .
I'm not a summer fan either, unless I can go somewhere cooler. I don't like HOT even without high humidity. Then again I don't really nasty cold for extended periods either; why can't it be fall or spring all the time--we don't get enough of either. It could be between 50 and 70 all the time and I'd love it.

Ditto that. I was considering getting fingerless gloves for when I'm on the computer. And today was relatively warm...3 degrees Celsius, 37 Fahrenheit. I was glad to see your post, Ellen, because we're taking the kids to Disneyland next week. 70 degrees is June weather for us...I guess we better pack a pair of shorts after all.

But you might want to pack some warm stuff and rainwear just in case. They're predicting 60ºs for the weekend, and El Niño rain midweek.
Yes, during an El Niño year, you can get all four (SoCal) seasons in one week!

Often right against the door of my ground-level cottage-style apartment (near 85th and Capitol just east of St. Margaret-Mary; I don't know if that complex is still there). This happened something like three or four weeks in a row, and I'd have to call in late to the school where I worked as a teachers' aide because I was trapped in my apartment. I had to remove the bedroom window/storm window (old-timey ones held on with those butterfly thingies), climb out of the window, shovel the snow in front of the door so I could open my door (door opened out), put the windows back up -- then walk to work (didn't have a car; lived just four blocks from my school, and half a block from the bus). The bumper stickers du jour said "Snow sucks!"

It wasn't long after that that I moved to San Diego!

Ellen - That was '82 - I was at Chapmans and we had closed the east town store a year earlier and I remember all that snow - Yes I google mapped 85th and Capitol and it looks like the same buildings you write of are still there.
