Oh, cricketeen!!! You so crack me up!
I absolutely adore Bjork and have every one of her CD's so I must have been channeling my Inner Bjork when I found that outfit!!! Secretly I was so covetous of her Swan Dress that I've always wanted one, too, so my subconscious must have had hold of my credit card when I picked out that outfit to wear to the party. Good catch on your part!!
Darling, Grasshoppers would so clash with the pink theme we have going on that how about a Pink Squirrel or a Pink Lady??? Way before adults thought that bringing children to bars was a BAD idea, I'd go with all the adults for Happy Hour at the VFW joint in our farm town, and at 10+ years old, I was sipping on Pink Squirrels and Pink Ladies. I guess they figured that the drinks were so fluffy that giving it to a kid was okay.I haven't thought of them for years, until your mention of Grasshoppers jogged my memory. The Pink Squirrel was my favourite but some bars didn't have the almond cordial required to make it. Darn! Now I want a drink instead of my coffee!!!
Here's the recipes:
PINK LADY
Ingredients
1 1/2 oz Gin
1 tsp Grenadine
1 tsp Light Cream
1 Egg White
Directions
Shake ingredients with ice, strain into a cocktail glass, and serve.
PINK SQUIRREL
Ingredients
1 oz Creme de Noyaux (Almond Cordial)
1 tbsp White Creme de Cacao
1 tbsp Light Cream
Directions
Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into a cocktail glass, and serve.
