We can't say it here. And it doesn't work for medical emergencies--that's what the phone is for.

Since so many want to know, I was referring to a .38 special--clean up your thoughts Amanda, I didn't know the gun ban had been lifted here ! nothing official, but...For a while there anything mentioning guns vanished in a hurry.

I don't own a gun. They make me nervous. I won't even go into a pawn shop because they creep me out. After watching 20/20, or some show like that last Friday night (I think) and they did a piece on trained gun owners...I mean these people went to the ranges on a regular basis, and considered themselves highly trained...it reinforced to me that there seems to be a false sense of security that the dealers sell you when they take your money for the guns. I know we all do what we think makes us comfortable, but it is definitely more than just a notion. And the scary part is that you never know who is carrying, or what their level of sanity is or isn't. They had people in a classroom, some armed, some not (fake bullets with paint pellets, kind of) and they had somebody burst into the room and he started shooting. Most of the people took several fatal wounds, shot innocent people, didn't see that there were other "bad guys" in the room, and seldom hit their targets. It really shocked the people who considered themselves "highly trained". They are great...on the gun range...but actual situations are not "gun range situations". It was a very interesting piece.

We've always owned guns and I'm a good shot but hope I never have to shoot at a person. You comment about the actual situation reminds me of people who take Martial Arts classes thinking they can protect themselves if the need ever arises. Being faced with the real danger is a far cry from shooting at a bulls eye or tossing someone around on a mat. I don't think either method is fool proof but either is probably better than nothing.
