I'll probably be in bed by 9:00 as usual

I'm all alone, so I'll probably be here on and off until about 10:00, which is when I usually go to bed. I don't even have any grapes to make plans for.
I never met a piece of chocolate I didn't like.

Newsflash to SR...they smash grapes into juice, ferment them, bottle them, market them, and sell them.

Yeah - I know about the "abuse" of the poor grape ... but I don't think sitting alone and drinking would be a good way for me to end the year. It's a tough one for me this year, so I'd better leave the alcohol alone. Not much of a drinker, anyway ... so I guess I'll bring in a supply of chocolate!

Awwww, I only said that because I thought that you didn't "get" the posts about the grapes.

Of course there are a miriad of ways to celebrate! Chocolate sounds like a good tradition. Especially hot chocolate.

I will be thinking back on the year, especially the hardest parts, and hoping that the next year will be better.

I'm sure my friends will be peeved that I don't want to party or even socialize, but I really consider New Year's Eve and New Year's Day to be very spiritual, and personal.

Ok, so we've got bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers, chocolate and abused grapes on the menu...anything else?!!

Hubby works in the morning. I'll be doing unbillable work in the morning. He'll come home. We'll have lunch. My brother sent hubby the March of the Penguins DVD (that's one of those movies we never got around to seeing), so I'm sure we'll watch that. No parties this year. I may check in here once or twice. We'll have munchies and wine (sparkling or not) throughout the evening. We're at that age (god help us! I'm being punished for teasing my parents all those years!) where I'll set the alarm for just before midnight so we can say "happy new year" and go back to sleep. Geez! I used to be the party planner AND party all night. In the words of Ricky Ricardo: "Wha' hoppin'?!!"

I knew you were joking - in fact, your post made me laugh. I'm just having a private little pity party that showed up in public here ... I'm going to kick myself in the rear and behave myself now.
