It takes a while to get over the nervousness after being in an accident. Mine was a couple years ago, and I still have moments that bother me. I do think, however, that you should get a t-shirt printed with your "nickname".... Backseat Bunny!

My girlfriend who was driving at the time actually took the time to make certificates for myself and one other friend who was in the truck that said we passed the Air Bag Deployment course! It wasn't that funny at the time but now it absolutely cracks me up!

Well the kids have been asking what I want for Christmas...Of course I would only wear it when riding with them as other people could get the wrong idea.

I had a Nissan Altima that was involved in two front-end accidents (one with my son driving, one with me driving - neither of which were our fault) and the air bags didn't deploy either time. Really bugged me to think that the car could sustain the damage it did and the safety feature didn't work. Fortunately, neither of us were hurt, although the second one totaled the car.

But think of the fun you could have, making up explanations!

Was it a used vehicle SR5? Newer cars have sensors that tell the system how fast you are going at impact and they go off according to the speed. They call them friendly air bags and when I had one blow in my face, it was a good thing it was the friendly kind of it would have broken my nose. My car is a 98 and it will deploy the bags even if I hit something going 20 miles per hour and it will come out full force which will cause more damage than the actual accident!

oh man, isn't that the truth! it's been 10 years since mine and i STILL freak out when i'm in a similar situation. for me, i was at a corner, waiting to turn left and a school bus was turning onto my street from my right, cut the corner too sharply and caught the corner of my car in it's wheel well, pushing my little ford escort a few hundred feet backwards into the ditch. completely totaled the front end of my car. so yeah, i get nervous when i'm at a corner and a big vehicle is turning in front of me.
