Our local tv station has been having a charity auction for the last 2 days. I've been sitting in an unheated room bidding and knitting and getting out-bid on every single item for two days. Finally - just now in the last round of bidding - I got two items I wanted. One was a $100 gift certificate to H&R Block for $60 and the other was a $300 leather jacket (black and red racing jacket for my son for Christmas) for $100. So yea!
    Count your blessings!

    Yea, Gut! Why no heat???
you can have some of mine. The stupid thermostat is on the first floor so the 2nd floor is usually comfortable, the first floor is ALWAYS cold and the top floor where I live most of the time is HOT as HADES.

It was an attached shed that the former owners tricked out with floor to ceiling bookshelves, a picture window, and a tv area. That's where the cable enters the house. I'm sure if I knew anything at all about those kinds of things I could have it come to another room, but I don't. We just keep it closed off and have blankets everywhere.
    Count your blessings!

Wow, just think of all the fashion possibilities that are there for you Unk! Hats are definitely IN! I'm finding it hard to find a good hat that fits well over my kitty ears

My area has a storm warning in effect. 5-10 inches of snow by tomorrow afternoon. It just started a couple of minutes ago.
I can guarantee my kids will be hoping for a snow day tomorrow!!!

I didn't end up going to the wedding. I actually hurt myself the night before Thanksgiving. My friend said it was good but there was drama between the two sets of parents.
    Yup, with donuts!!

    Pamper Yourself!

    Hand and Foot Sugar Scrub

    Ingredients:
2 tbsp light olive oil (not extra virgin, which gets sticky), or grapeseed oil

    2 tbsp granulated sugar

(Add some of your favorite essential oil for a nice scent, if you want!)

Rub this mixture onto hands and feet focusing on calloused areas. Rinse under warm water and pat dry.

Fabulously silky-smooth skin! Really, reallynice for dry hands (with those tiny pieces of dried skin that snag on everything) at this time of year. I use my scrub with a lava stone.....HEAVEN!.....but it works nicely by itself, too.
