Dad's funeral was just this afternoon, so I'm sure they are all still trying to get their heads around this. I don't get the impression that anyone at the center really knows this mother at all.

I need some help from my fellow FORTers! We are planning our Holiday office party, and I'm looking for suggestions for some different gift exchange ideas. We've done the Secret Santa, the "taking" other people's gifts game, and the musical gifts game. Does anyone know of any other fun games for office parties? We're a non-profit agency of about 35 people.

I hate any form of "Yankee Swap" (taking gifts). Feelings are always hurt. Our girl scout leaders party one year was all homemade gifts. It could be candy, cookies, crafts, knitting - as long as it was homemade. Our secret santa at school starts 3 days prior to the party and you have to give little clues with inexpensive gifts. Then at the party you have to guess your SS before you can open the present. If you guess wrong you have to wait until everyone has had a turn to guess again. That party gets a little long, though and people start going out early if they've already guessed and unwrapped.
    Count your blessings!

How about instead of gifts, everyone brings food for the food bank or something for a local shelter.

I like that idea, dagwood. I hate any form of gift exchange at work and avoid it like the plague if at all possible.

Somebody tell me what the deal is, what the attraction is of this stupid "upside down" Christmas tree that I'm seeing advertised. This is one of the most ridiculous things I've seen in a while.
