It's because you have a kind face, mrd. Try scowling now and then.

No, it's because I'm Flypaper for Freaks.

I have an tattoo on my forehead that is only visible to all the weirdos and it says: "go talk to her and tell her your WEIRDEST story EVER. Doesn't matter that she's reading or otherwise engaged, just go and talk to her!!!"

My doctor's waiting area is next to the railing on the 2nd floor, so all the kid noise from the pediatrican waiting area shoots right up to where I have to sit next to the railing. So I take my ipod. I also have learned that a book will not keep the strange people from talking to you, so having both a book and the earbuds discourages the people that have told me their stories about the court ordered psychiatrist, the exploding bowel and their lengthy and detailed descriptions of their prostate trouble.
I didn't think I had told that one yet...

MRD, I swear I'm going to write a book about the stories I've heard lately- suicides (2 recent ones) The people apparently really needed to talk and I think they figured that I wanted to hear about their losses. I ended up crying right along with them. I sure wouldn't mind hearing about prostate/wind damage/college tuition rate hikes right about now!

My guy neighbor told me that he has cut himself several times while using the Ped Egg. Is it just my low tolerance, or is that just stupid? Like my buddy, Big Mouth Billy Bass says, "Catfish are dumb." I fear my neighbor is becoming my favorite catfish.

You really need to develop the blank, cold-eyed stare. I wish I could teach it to you because I have it down pat (I've unfortunately scared a few people at work over the years until they've gotten to know what a harmless individual I am), but it is something that has to come from within. You could try practicing in the mirror, though. Just remove every bit of interest in what you are looking at (in this case it would be yourself), make sure there isn't the remotest hint of a smile tugging at the corners of your mouth, give a very small non-committal grunt and keep looking back at what you are actually interested in, ie. your book. I promise you, it works.

Linen's n Things here is out of Ped Eggs. They waiting for a Xmas shipment. Hopefully, there won't be any more "dumb catfish" occurencies which could put the Ped Egg on the harmful Xmas gifts list!

ETA: Does anyone know where I can buy binders for magazines? You know the kind that come with those little sticks you place in the middle of the magazine so you can keep 6 or so in a binder? I don't want to punch holes in any of them. They are face and bodypainting issues from the UK.
