Buglover, I don't think you are selfish at all. Believe me, if I were in your shoes, I'd probably be much less nice about it. I won't go into any more detail, but for me, just...no.

Maybe mine should have been SURPRISE!!!

Well the town I'm from was renamed to Arcadia from Tater Hill Bluff and the story is that it was named for a little girl that lived there named Arcadia.
So I could have named my daughter after the town we lived in that was already named for a little girl. (did that make any sense to anyone?)

She better be happy she's NOT named Tater!

Re: FORT Koffee Klatch

You know, I was thinking that as I posted it. I LOVE Ron White.

Well I have moved into the 21st century and broken down and gotten a cell phone. It was inevitable I guess. I got a pay as you go phone and the phone itself was $12.88 and the minute card I got was $20.00. So far only one person has the phone number.
When my child gets home, she will get it too. But I plan to limit the number of people that have it to under 5 if I can. It's for MY convenience and my husband and daughter's, it's NOT for idle chatting.
My husband asked if I planned to ever turn this one on as the last time I had a cell phone (over 2 years ago), I never turned it on unless I needed to make a call, so he could never get me. So I guess I'll have to have it on at times, but as it will be extremely limited to who has the number, then it won't be so bad.

And quite honestly I'm not real excited about having one except for the peace of mind in case of emergency.

And remember, you don't always have to answer the damn thing.

Just like I do at home!!!

Now that I'm working, one of my jobs has been answering the phone. We have had a HUGELY popular program running this month that has taken on a life of it's own and the phone has NOT STOPPED RINGING!!!!! It's about to drive us ALL insane. It's great that the program has been so popular and brought in a LOT of extra people to the museum and gotten us a LOT of publicity, but geez, louise, the phone is crazy. I feel like I have it glued to my ear the entire time I'm there. So you can bet the house phone and now the cell phone will be only when I FEEL like answering them.

(and you cannot believe some of the insane people that have called either. We have gotten some doozies believe me-those are my favorite calls to take. NOT!)

Re: FORT Koffee Klatch

MRD, I have a cellphone that only one person has or ever will have the number of (that would be Mr. Rattus). I never answer my home phone but I feel entirely comfortable with the idea of leaving the cell on all the time because I KNOW who's on the other end. Well, Mr. Rattus and the rare wrong number, but I can live with those.

Re: FORT Koffee Klatch

Now, remember...the cell phone has to be on in case of call from daughter and hubby. 'Ignore' is a great feature.
