As some of you may already know, I like putzing around on the computer.

Without going into a long explanation, how Windows deals with hard drives and hard drive space is a vital difference between Windows NT, Windows 95/98/XP and 2000.

Windows 98 uses the FAT32 [File Allocation Table, 32-bit] system.

I took it as my own, and substituted the "phat" (heh) to show my street credentials, yo.

And that's probably more than most of you ever wanted to know about computers.

My name is Glenna Jo. I've always used glennajo for my usernames because a lot of sites ask for 8 letters or more.
    Hence the screenname~ glennajo.
But my friends just call me Glenna or G. So feel free!

    My screenname...

My screenname is a name I came up with for myself a few years ago, because I like to sneak around in the shadows, both in real life and on the internet. I also like to make myself sound mysterious.

My nick is broken down this way: me-twin-1

I'm a twin. Hence 'twin' and I'm the elder twin, hence '1'. When I first used the internet I went about with the nick twin1, but it was too common. I decided to be more egocentric and added a 'me' in front. Hence metwin1.

After using this nick though, I found a new problem: people drop the 1 at the end of my nick when addressing me.

My twin sister also posts here once in a while. She's meclone2. How her nick came about is her story to tell, not mine. Some of you guys may have come across her posts. We'll come by more regularly when TAR comes back.

But it has been interesting reading about how everybody's nick came about.

Phat32, I just wanted to ask you something about filing systems

    Windows 95/98/ME uses FAT32 ?

    And NT/2000 uses NTFS?

What about XP? Is there a difference between Home and Professional Editions?
