Because it's a very apt name for all of Reality TV.

My online friends have always known me as Dee....I write children's books in my spare time and a friend once said "you are such a day dreamer" and I replied no I am Dee Dreamer so the name stuck.

How Did You Choose Your On-Line FORT Profile Name?

I'm fascinated by all of the interesting and imaginative names that we FORT posters have coined for ourselves, so I was wondering if you guys would be willing to share how you chose yours.

    I'll go first:

My name, Imperfect1 always makes me smile, cause it came from something kind of poignant that happened a number of years ago. When my ex-husband and I were divorcing, he gave me a gift --- it was a gold necklace that said Imperfect, but the 't' was tipped over and looked like it was falling off the necklace. Definitely imperfect. It made me smile and tear up at the same time, cause it was a very sweet gesture, but calling me Imperfect was, unfortunately, very true.

Since then, some version of the word imperfect has always been my on-line name.

Re: How Did You Choose Your On-Line FORT Profile Name?

My name came from a childhood nickname. Our street was loaded with kids our age and we played outside all day (in Southern California). My first name rhymes with Cootie so of course, it was added to my name (just for fun, of course). We played a game called "Cooties" which was like tag. The girls chased the boys and tagged them with cooties or vice versa. I was tall and fast, so I could hold my own. The name Cootie holds fun memories for me. I also loved the game with the plastic insects!

Re: How Did You Choose Your On-Line FORT Profile Name?

There's another version of this thread somewhere - probably 50 pages in, so I'll play.
Gutmutter means "good mother" in German. Not grammatically correct - the adjective should have a feminine ending and the noun should be separate and capitalized, but I took artistic license. The "U"s would be pronounced as long "U"s (goot mooter) and it never occurred to me that people were hearing it in their heads like I had a growling stomach until I met a FORTer in real life.
Being a good mother is one of my proudest achievements.
    Count your blessings!
