Where were you, what were you doing when RFK was assassinated June 5, 1968?

I was 10 years old went to buy a paper at the corner store, and read the headlines. My mom told me it was horrible, first JFK in '63, MLK in April '68, and now Bobby - this was the first time I heard going to hell in a handbasket.

I wasn't either. My sister was 3 and my brother was 1. Maybe I'll ask my Mom.

I was at work at the VA Hospital. I was walking through a day room and all the guys were huddled around the tv. One of them motioned me over to watch. What a shock!

I was in kindergarten! I remember the moon walk, and Vietnam (which scared the bejesus out of me as I didn't understand that neither America nor Vietnam were not over the next hill), but I don't remember Kennedy. I remember Kent State though (7 years old) and was really horrified and confused by it. I think going to hell in a handbasket pretty much sums up the snuffed out potential of those leaders.

I was in first grade. Don't remember this or MLK. I do remember the moon walk only because my parents made such a big deal out of it and we could see the launches from our house and we would run outside to see the rockets go up. That was exciting.

I do remember where I was and what I was doing when Lennon was shot.

Hey if any of you want a good retrospective on the past 40 years, get the Rolling Stone 1000th issue that is out now. It has a 3D cover and the articles are very interesting about how they covered music, politics and other cultural issues of our time. There is also stuff about RFK and his picture is on the cover (along with a lot of others. The cover is reminiscent of the Sgt. Pepper album cover).

My parents weren't married yet, so I wasn't a twinkle in anyone's eye either.

We've been through this before, sonny, and I don't feel any sorrier for you this time around.
