    Re: Gas Prices

I just saw gas for $3.88 and about crashed. How sad is it that we get happy for $3.88?

Taxes have a lot to do with the price of a gallon of gas. Here is a neat chart which lists the various states and amount of taxes paid for each gallon of gas.

    http://www.api.org/statistics/fuelta...ry_pages-2.pdf

CA is tops, CT is second. NY is third. Florida is seventh. Alaska collects the least amount in taxes, which surprised me. NJ is actually less taxed than SC, so it definitely depends on what state one lives in, not which region of the country.
Well that was interesting. SC only has 3 states with lower taxes than us, so I can see why we pay so much less than everyone else.
SC is usually at the bottom of so many varied lists.

I saw an upcoming story on the news regarding the oil situation and haven't been able to watch it. Are they going to be investigating the whole price hike from each station?
    Yup, with donuts!!

What I am really trying to stick to is not letting the tank get below half a tank. For some reason, it stings less to spend $25 or so to end up with a full tank.

I do the same thing MamaC. Gas has gone down 4 cents this week here but I'm sure it will rise again tomorrow for the weekend!

BFD we are about the smae here in Cleveland.. however I live on the border of Lake and Cuyahoga counties.. so i have the price difference there too. I work in Lake so on my drives daily i can see a range of 3.80-4.09. Kills me the one thats in the 3.80s is ALWAYS packed when I pass it because its 5:00 and end of day and everyone and their brohter is waiting to gas up.. its not worth my time to wait in a line.. I just want to get home and let the dog out So I end up paying like 3.92 or so.. on average 5-12 cents more

Sigh remember the days when 10 bucks filled your tank.. that wasn't THAT long ago
