I learned this last night--Arabic numbers really come from India, and date to about 500 BC.

I first thought you were talking about matches, as in matchmaking, as in dating services! That many successful ones would be quite a record.

I also thought the "close cover before striking" was about hitting someone with a book; not necessarily a matchbook!

Did you know that the human head contains 22 bones? Maybe that's where the phrase "bonehead" came from.

So, I guess if you were matched up with a bonehead you could strike him with a book!

Did you know that on average, a chocolate bar contains 8 spider legs?

I learned this last night, too.
I always thought the Mayans "discovered" zero, but that was India, too!

I did not know about the "did you know" site, so mine don't come from there... most come from my Brain Full of Useless Trivia, otherwise I Ask.com (furinstance aboout the matches)
I have found the Truth and it doesn't make sense.

I get mine from my memory, or from local stuff, or from a few sites on the web. I've kept things in a file for years. There's mountains of information out there floating around. Well, I guess mountains don't really float. That wouldn't be factual.

Did You Know that Dogs are mentioned 14 times in the Bible, and lions 55 times, but domestic cats are not mentioned at all. We're not happy about that. Not happy at all.

Oooo if you happen to be in your car at that time with 78910 miles on it that would be really fun to see.
